We invite you to the training course “Fundamentals of Customs Law for Practitioners”.
Knowledge of the fundamentals of customs law is crucial to building and operating an international supply chain. In order to ensure the smooth functioning of all “links in the chain”, it is important to know the sources of relevant law and to navigate through the maze of regulations efficiently to the benefit of your customers. It is also of great importance to choose the correct customs procedure and to properly prepare the documentation for its implementation.
The training is dedicated to practitioners, including freight forwarders, carriers, direct importers and exporters, as well as anyone who wants to learn customs law from the ground up.

The open enrollment training is conducted both on-site in Gdynia (AC Porath training room) and online.
Closed enrollment training is conducted at the client’s premises or at another location specified by the client (throughout Poland) and on an agreed date, and is also available in online format.

I. Sources of international customs law.
- The basics of customs law (sources of international law, EU law).
- Customs law in Poland.
- Organization of the National Revenue Administration.
- Exercises.
II. Customs procedures.
- What customs procedures are employed.
- What types of transport documents are required by customs regulations.
- Liability and risks.
- Exercises.
III. Customs declarations.
- Types of customs declarations.
- ICT systems for handling customs declarations.
- Freight tariffs.
- Exercises.
IV. Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) – exercises.
- Export and release procedure.
- Exports and imports to and from the EU.
- Types of documents required by customs regulations for export and import.
- A detailed plan for the correct import of goods from outside the EU (UK, Ireland, Switzerland).
- Transit as a special procedure.
- Exercises.
V. Minimization of customs risks.
- Scope of liability of the parties in transport.
- Risks in transit procedure – scope of carrier’s liability.
- How to avoid mistakes when closing customs procedures.
- Correct documentation in transport.
- Case study.
➡️ We provide training in the form of a workshop, following the principle of minimum theory and maximum practice. Participants will acquire practical knowledge and skills in the field of customs law.
➡️ The training course is dedicated to employees (including those new to the topic) of import and export offices, customs agencies, accounting or (and) sales departments and other individuals interested in the topic.
➡️ Classes are interactive: multimedia presentation, exercises, case studies, exchange of experience, case law, answers to questions and clarification of doubts, discussion.
