Managing Customs Risk
Welcome to the training course “Managing Customs Risk”.
Familiarity with customs risk management methodology allows for the safe use of customs facilitations and protects companies against possible legal and financial sanctions, the potential revocation of existing customs facilitations, and possible inspections by authorities following mistakes made by companies trading with foreign counterparties (countries outside the EU).
Identification of fiscal risk areas such as classification of goods, origin of goods, and value of goods contributes to avoiding mistakes in declaring and paying customs duties and interest, and protects against the initiation of criminal fiscal proceedings.
The identification of non-fiscal risk areas allows goods to be correctly declared for customs procedures and avoidance of non-economic restrictions, e.g. import restrictions, export restrictions, intellectual property, shipment of pharmaceuticals, hazardous substances, CITES, dual-use goods and technologies, ozone-depleting substances, etc.
Targeted collection and processing of information on customs risks enables proper assessment of the scale of risks present in the company.
